Successful Campaign
Commitments to recruit and retain
exceptional faculty and recognize
academic leadership, including 13 new
endowed faculty chair positions across
the University as well as endowed dean
positions at the Villanova School of

New academic programs and
initiatives, which will offer students
innovative opportunities for learning
and personal development, such as
the new Clay Center in the Villanova
School of Business.
On December 7, 2007, University
President, the Rev. Peter M.
Donohue, O.S.A., the Villanova
University Board of Trustees
and the Campaign Steering
Committee hosted an 800-guest,
black-tie dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. The
gala’s theme— The Facesof
Villanova— honored the thousands
of alumni, parents and friends
whose generosity and leadership
ensured the Campaign’s success.
At the event, more than 100
Villanova students personally
thanked contributors for their
involvement and support of the
University. The evening closed
with thousands of streamers
cascading among the guests
as the Pep Band played the
Villanova fight song.
Capital projects designed to provide the most advanced living
and learning environment, including three new state-of-the-art
facilities: a new building for the School of Law, slated for completion
in August 2009; Driscoll Hall, the new home of the College of
Nursing, which opened in August 2008; and the Davis Center for
Athletics and Fitness, which opened in November 2007.
The celebratory conclusion of the
campaign provided an opportunity
to reflect on the key ingredients of
its success — generous donors, a
shared commitment to Villanova
and its mission, and a willingness
to be active in supporting the
University’s continued advancement.
