Meet the Students
Abby Butkus ’ 10
Villanova School of Business
With majors in accounting and inter-
national business, Abby, who is in
Villanova’s Honors Program, has already
been offered a job after graduation. The
senior from Morristown, N.J., is also
minoring in theology, works as a Peer
Counselor and has traveled to Africa
with the Villanova School of Business’
Business without Borders organiza-
tion, of which she is co-president. She
has also studied abroad in Paris, had a
summer internship with global
accounting firm KPMG, and in her
spare time pursues her interest in music.
She says the best thing about Villanova
is “the support I get from friends,
professors and everyone else here.”
Will Cullen ’ 10
College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
As president of Villanova’s Blue Key
Society, Will heads a group of more
than 200 volunteer Villanova tour
guides. They provide high school
students visiting campus with an
all-important student perspective on
life as a Villanovan. A communication
major, he also serves on the Steering
Committee for New Student
Orientation and plays for Villanova’s
club water polo team. He says his
friends back home in Red Bank, N.J.,
are envious of his college experience.
“I’m leaving Villanova a very different
person than I was when I first came
here,” he says. “I’ve surprised myself.”
Dave Ederer ’ 10
College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
The warmth of a Villanova spring was
a surprise to this student from Buffalo,
N. Y., who feels one of the few things
the campus lacks is an ice hockey rink.
Majoring in biology and philosophy,
Dave has served the underprivileged in
the Bronx and abroad in Malawi, and
plans to pursue a career in public health.
As the student chairperson of New
Student Orientation, he worked with
the Office of Student Life to develop
the program content for the current
freshman class. He says, “Villanova is a
family in which you’re challenged to do
great things. I know I’ve done things
here I never dreamed I’d try.”
